The Home Builders Association of Washington County (HBAWC) is a non-profit organization that advocates for and advances the interests of the building industry in Washington County for over 50 years…
The Land Use Council was started in 1996 as a sub council of the Home Builders Association of Washington County.
The Land Use Council works on matters which directly affect developers and consultants who work with the county review agencies that deal with land development.
The council meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Hagerstown Family Diner on Dual Highway (Formerly The Venice). The meeting begins at 7:30am and is usually finished by 8:30am. Breakfast is provided by the HBAWC. The council is open to all members of the Association. Representatives from the reviewing agencies attend the meetings on a regular basis which provides for an open dialogue between consultants, developers, and the agencies. There is also a smaller sub-committee which meets directly with the various agencies to discuss and resolve specific issues as they arise.
